In this post, we take a look at how you can use WhatsApp template messages to engage with customers on the occasion of Dussehra. But before that, let us take a quick look at what this festival is all about.
What is Dussehra?
Dussehra also known as Dasara or Vijaydashmi is a Hindu festival commemorating the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana, the 10-headed demon king who captured Rama’s wife Sita. The festival gets its name from the Sanskrit words Dasha which means 10 and hara which means defeat.
Dussehra symbolizes the victory of good over evil and coincides with the 9th day of Navratri and the 10th day of Durga Puja festivals. In many parts of India, the effigies of Ravana are burnt with firecrackers marking the destruction of evil. The festival also includes processions to local rivers where the statues of Durga, Ganesha, and Kartikeya are bid goodbye to and immersed.
