Send Review Request messages via WhatsApp API
In order to ask for a review request, you first need a message template that you would like to send to your customers. You can create new message templates by following this guide.
Here are 3 sample templates you can use:
If the order contained 1 product
Hey {{1}},
Thank you for your recent purchase at {{2}}. We hope you loved it!
We would like to get your feedback on the product. This helps us improve as well as tells other buyers that our customers love it.

Product: {{3}}
Link: {{4}}
Thank you and have a nice day!
If the order contained 2 products
Hey {{1}},
Thank you for your recent purchase at {{2}}. We hope you loved it!
We would like to get your feedback on the product. This helps us improve as well as tells other buyers that our customers love it.
Click on the link below to leave your review.
Product: {{3}}
Link: {{4}}
Product: {{5}}
Link: {{6}}
Thank you and have a nice day!
If the product contained 3 products -- you get the point.
Step 1: Open DelightChat
Open WhatsApp Marketing > Automations in the app and click on [Create New Automation] from the top right.
Step 2: Chose Event Trigger
This is when the event sequence should start. You can choose either of these
- New order
- Order fulfilled
- Order delivered (choose this only if your carrier is updating the "Delivered" status in the Shopify order details)
Suppose you chose Order fulfilled as your event trigger, and let's say your orders on average get delivered within 4-5 days. Then in the message delay setting, you can choose 7 days as the delay.
Step 3: Choose Entry Condition
The way entry conditions work is, you choose a few parameters to filter out new events. For example, New Order event, Order Value >₹1000 entry condition.
In the case of review collection, we want to choose the option "Count of unique products in order".
So essentially, we would be setting up multiple automations.
- Automation 1. Count of unique products in order = 1. Choose the message template which contains Product, Link variables for 1 product.
- Automation 1. Count of unique products in order = 2. Choose the message template which contains Product, Link variables for 2 products.
- And so on..
Step 4: Configure Message
In this step, you want to send the delay to 7 or 10 days. The delay is counted from the time the original Event Trigger takes place.
You can also configure the message template in this step using variables such as {Product Name 1}, {Product URL 1}.
In Entry Condition, if you chose "Count of unique products in order" = 3, then the variables available in this section would be {Product Name 1}, {Product URL 1}, {Product Name 2}, {Product URL 2}, {Product Name 3}, {Product URL 3}.
Step 5: Enable Product Review Automation
When you're done configuring this automation, just select the Enable toggle and click the [Save] button.
